Musée Soieries Brochier - Boutique du Grand Hôtel-Dieu

Brochier Soieries Shop

In its boutique located along the banks of the Rhône, a stone's throw from the Intercontinental Hotel, Maison Brochier Soieries presents a refined selection of silk scarves and shawls woven and printed in their Lyon workshops. This unique location showcases the silk manufacturer's latest collections: twill scarves and muslin shawls, “couture” collections inspired by the Bianchini Férier archives, artist scarves, and collections of patterned velvet, all unique products woven on Jacquard looms and hand-painted in its Lyon workshops.

Access to the Brochier Silk Museum located in the same place will delight those who are curious and passionate about textiles!

Brochier Silk Museum

The Brochier Silk Museum is an essential starting point for a visit to Lyon that combines heritage and history.

We are delighted to invite you to discover 130 years of history of a great Lyon family who found their calling in silk in 1890: four generations, nine Brochier family members, and several hundred thousand meters of woven and printed silk for the biggest names in haute couture and the arts of this century.

Discover dresses by Christian Lacroix, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, James Galanos, Chanel, and Christian Dior created with fabrics from Soieries Brochier. The works of the great masters Miró, Calder, and Cocteau are further evidence of the strong ties that unite artists with the Brochier family.

Discover how a taste for innovation has enabled the Jacquard loom to be adapted for the creation of technical fabrics for the Concorde, the Radeau des Cimes, Venus probe balloons, and how silk thread is now woven with fiber optics to create the fabrics of tomorrow.

The museum also welcomes silk enthusiasts and curious visitors for weaving workshops.
